  1. when i was like 8 i would have my family buy a bunch of walkey talkeys to get features and jut talking on them.

  2. Yea, they can reach pretty far, but also not ultra. I remember using them often when we where out with the family or in general some natural locations.

  3. yes, i used to play with those too. for some context to what i’m about to say, back then i liveed on aruba which is a small island out in the middel of no where caribian. one day, my brother and i were playing with them, and another child came over our speakers. they said they were from venesuela. so those things reached far as hell.

  4. PMR wasn’t a thing in my childhood, but I remember playing with CB radios back in the early 90s. They used frequencies in the upper shortwave bands (27 mHz), and had more power than modern PMR radios (up to 4 watts). Its a shame that almost nobody cares about CB radio anymore. PMR is only a poor copy.
